Sedation & Anesthesia
Depending on the specific procedure your child receives, he or she likely will receive either conscious sedation or general anesthesia before treatment.
Conscious Sedation
Before an outpatient procedure, conscious sedation works to relax the child without inducing sleep. An anesthetic is used to prevent pain. Your child will receive sedation from a team of professionals experienced in easing anxiety and keeping young patients as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.
General Anesthesia
General anesthesia makes patients sleep during surgery. At 猎奇重口Children's Hospital, your child will be treated by some of New Mexico's only board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists. These experts monitor your child's vital signs during and after surgery to help ensure he or she stays safe.
